From those who are not yet to com...

Supposing that a place is a complex of multiple temporalities—of past, present, and future—being in that place means being among those who were there before and those who are yet to come. The project ‘From Those Who Are Not Yet to Come…’ speculates on this idea through the superposition of textual and photographic elements onto the remnants of Bangkok Kunsthalle, a site that was once the Thai Wattana Panit printing press. The appearance of these textual elements superimposes a displaced discourse onto the existing context; in this process, other sites emerge. By merging different spatial discourses, this intervention cracks open a ‘hypersite’: an imaginary site where different spaces and times interplay. It is a kind of site where, upon returning, one sees oneself gazing back from the other site.
